Peachtree Friends, I will miss being with you this Sunday, as I’ll be away representing our church at the General Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). It’s an honor to carry your spirit, stories, and hopes into our wider church community. While I’m away, I remain deeply encouraged by all the signs of life among us—new visitors arriving each week, a great turnout for our recent Starting Point gathering, and the buzz of excitement building for Vacation Bible School! God is doing something beautiful in and through our church, and I can’t wait to return and continue walking this journey with you.

Wednesdays | July 17 - Aug 27 | 7-8:30 pm | Online Only Did the Hebrew prophets only foretell Jesus’ coming, or did they forthtell God’s righteous will for people living in their own time, a word that Jesus would later Himself proclaim and embody? If the prophets of the Hebrew Bible offered both correction and consolation to God’s people throughout their history, then what do those prophets have to say to us today as we seek to follow Christ? In this seven-week study we will address those questions using Walter Brueggemann’s 2019 wonderful study guide entitled, From Judgement to Hope: A Study on the Prophets. It offers good summaries and commentaries on each prophet, their historical context, timelines, and exemplary passages from each prophet that we will study. The guide is widely available online for $12 or less. Please, order your own copy. If the cost is prohibitive, contact Rev. Brooks Gignilliat; the church does offer scholarships. A guided discussion format will allow free conversation while keeping us on-track and focused on key take-aways. Join us as we read texts that shaped Jesus’ understanding of Who God is and what God expects of His people. The class will meet on-line only on Tuesday evenings from July 8 through August 19 at 7:30 PM. There is no registration fee. However, to receive the Zoom link, you must register by emailing the teacher: ellardw@bellsouth.net Even if you can’t attend live, but you want to watch sessions after the fact, be sure to email the teacher, so that you can receive links to watch the recordings.

Sundays | 10:00 am | Room 217 Fellowship is the perfect name for this class, where members gather in a warm, welcoming space to learn, connect, and share in the abundant grace and blessings of God. It’s a place where relationships are built, both through the class and throughout church-wide activities, offering countless opportunities to grow together in faith. The class focuses on helping older adults deepen their understanding of the Bible, its relevance and importance to living our Christian faith. Our lessons explore essential themes like faith, joy, love, forgiveness, and the essence of living as a community of believers. Each Sunday, a rotating team of teachers brings new perspectives, blending historical insights with contemporary reflections, sparking thought-provoking discussions and moments of shared growth. Come be a part of this vibrant group of prime-time adults as we continue to grow our understanding of Jesus' teachings and what it truly means to live as a community of believers.

Sundays | 10am | Room 218 Our Youth Sunday School class for middle and high school students (6th-12th grade) is designed to help teens connect with Scripture in a real and meaningful way.
In this 45-minute session, we'll explore how God’s Word speaks directly to the challenges and decisions teens face every day—whether it's friendships, identity, faith, or purpose.
Through engaging teaching and thoughtful discussion, students will not only dive deeper into understanding the character of God, but also strengthen their theology and build a foundation for navigating life with faith and wisdom.
This class is a place to learn, ask questions, and grow together in a supportive, vibrant community.
Teachers: Rev. Katie Bond & Jeff Bond

Sundays | July 13-Aug 24 | 10am | RM 213 When have ever you felt cut off from home, from the familiar, from security and belonging? What buoyed you up? What dragged you down or threatened to turn you away from your authentic self? When the Israelites found themselves exiled to Babylon, God sent Daniel to speak words of comfort and of challenge to His people. Come and hear how these words can speak to us in our own experiences of Exile, on how we can come home to God and – more radically -- how God comes to us even when we are far away from Him.
